Eyeshadows
Eyeshadows' main role is to add colour to your eyelids and is an excellent tool for changing your look. If you are new to using eyeshadow, keep it simple. Use only one colour at a time until you have your confidence, then start adding other colours to create different looks.
There are many different shades, colours, textures and layers, resulting in endless different combinations and results. Below are a few general pointers.
- If you feel that you are not adventurous enough try starting with muted shades as they add colour softly and can help shape the eye.
- White pearlized colours act as highlighters.
- Pastel colours draw attention to eyes as well as making them look refreshed.
- Bright colours make eyes look dazzling and attract attention.

How to apply eyeshadows
- Eyeshadows can be applied with a few different applicators, such as sponge-tip applicators, fingers, however a good eyeshadow brush is worth paying for by helping the eyeshadow glide on easily and ensure an improved finish.
- Apply foundation crème or moisturiser to eyelids, this allows eyeshadow to glide on easily and prevent cracking.
- Sweep a light colour over your entire eyelid. This will create a smooth base and will make the other colours brighter.
- Take your eyeshadow colour and sweep it evenly from your upper lash line up to the eyebrow bone. The colour should fade as it closer to the bridge of the nose.
- Finish by lightly buffing the colour back in an outwards direction.
